[ Shortly after the voting for the "most intelligent" round has begun, Knightley returns with Simon to the red room where they can discuss things in a more private space. He imagines people will be too busy out there to come back to this room, but just to be on the safe side he keeps his voice low to prevent anyone else from hearing their conversation and pats Simon reassuringly on the shoulder to make it seem like he's just here to console a friend in need. ]

[Simon is slumping on the couch and petting Anubis. He's positioned the other animals as lookouts, though he hasn't bothered to tell Horace this.]

I have my lady and my bodyguard training, you have your weapon and the dog. I think we should use that to our advantage when the voting for next round begins.

[murimurimuri]

How so?

[Pet, pet]

[staunton]

A hostage could change their mind about voting for the ginger girl.

[murimurimuri]

[He hesitates for a long moment.]

...Two guns means two hostages. Anubis can take care of her guard dog.

[staunton]

...I like the way you think. Those morons aren't gonna want to sacrifice them by voting for the girl.

[murimurimuri]

How much ammo do you have?

[staunton]

I've got four bullets left. You?

You must have obtained your gun recently. How good are you at using it?

[murimurimuri]

If all I'm doing is pointing it at someone's head, how good do I have to be?

[staunton]

Just don't pull the trigger by mistake.

[ ...Says the man who does that frequently, uh. ]

I'm not going to twirl it around or keep my finger on the trigger. What kind of an idiot do you think I am?

[staunton]

I'm just reminding you. [ And himself, hopefully. He doesn't need to misfire his gun. ] We can't afford to fuck this up.

[murimurimuri]

[What do you care if we fuck this up why are you even still here I hate you I hate your face]

I'll be fine. I'm always fine once I'm onstage.

[staunton]

[ Those are some pretty cruel thoughts you're thinking there, Simon. Too bad Knightley has no idea. ]

Are you prepared to kill the hostage if the others don't comply? Blowing their brains out isn't gonna be a pretty sight.

[ He might not have any qualms with getting more blood on his hands but he still likes to think that Simon is a far better man than he is, somebody who isn't a murderer. ]

[For a brief moment he considers admitting just how prepared he is—but it's too risky, and he's not good with the truth to begin with. But lying is getting tiring, too, so he takes the middle ground and just shrugs noncommittally.]

[staunton]

All right. [ He's not sure how to interpret that, but he won't press him about it. ]

We shouldn't release the hostages immediately after the results are revealed - we need to get to our cells and the others could try to stop us if we let them go and run.

[murimurimuri]

[Nods.]

I'm worried about De Killer.

[staunton]

...That fucking guy better not try anything.

[murimurimuri]

...I don't have a contingency plan for that. We'll just have to hope his injuries work in our favor.

[staunton]

Yeah. [ Just this once, he thinks Ethan Rooke did a good job, injuring Shelly like that. ]

I think the ginger girl should be one of our hostages.

You can have her. The girl in the box is a little more my speed.
